This is the final part of a series about using Lightroom and the Samsung Frame TV. Part 1 covered Lightroom configuration, Part 2 used ChatGPT to write an upload script, and Part 3 brought Lightroom Mobile into the loop. This one is about the app that replaced all of it.
Two years ago I wrote that I almost absolutely loved my Samsung Frame TV. The hardware was perfect. Getting my own photography onto it was not. Because it was so hard, I often didn’t get my best art onto the TV. Samsung’s apps are deliberately hard to use because they want to coerce users into the $5 per month art service. That model works for some, but many of us don’t want to spend $5 per month to get the best out of our own TV.
I tried workarounds. I worked through a few Python scripts. I quickly found I was spending more time debugging Python than loving my photography. So I jumped in with both feet to the world of app development to create a premium experience for Frame TV users within the Apple ecosystem.
Today I’m announcing Galleri 1.0. It’s a native app for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV that moves your Frame TV experience from foreign to fabulous: a native way to upload and curate your own art on whichever device is at hand.
Your photos are the ❤️ of Galleri. Each of us bought the Frame TV to bring out the best of our photos and memories. With Galleri, each photo has a matte type, matte color, and effect embedded into the photo, so that configuration follows your photo. Create collections of photos on the Mac, upload to the Frame TV, and set mattes, colors, and effects in a single pass.
Want to change your photos for a holiday or a birthday party? Easy! Build the themed set as its own Collection ahead of time, clear the art off your TV, and push the collection. When the guests leave, swap it back. Because how each photo is displayed lives in the photo itself, removing and re-pushing costs you nothing.
Your photos, where you are. When you’re near the Frame TV, your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV remote is close at hand. Why dig out and navigate through the Samsung app? The Galleri iPhone and iPad apps upload and crop new photos straight from your camera roll, and set mattes and effects from wherever you’re standing. With the Apple TV app, you can curate on the Mac, then change your mind from the sofa.
What it isn’t. It’s for the Samsung Frame, and only the Frame. There’s no account to create and no cloud to manage. The app talks to your TV directly over your home network. Each device pairs on its own and keeps its own view of the wall, so your iPhone and your Mac don’t sync with each other. The TV is the source of truth, and a refresh catches everyone up. Collections are Mac only.

I’m asking three things.
- Does it find your TV and connect? If it doesn’t, tell me the model year.
- Does an upload land on the wall looking the way it looked in the app?
- Does it do what you expected? Where it didn’t is the report I want most.
