Mount Cook gives way to Milford Sound, which gives way to a soak at Hanmer Springs, which gives way to the quiet of Akaroa’s harbor — the South Island changes character every day you’re on it. This series follows nine days riding from Mount Cook through Queenstown and the wet western coast, with stops for new friends, bad weather, and the occasional hot spring, before circling back through Akaroa toward home.
